Steve White, Lakeland's Social Services Manager, is the initial point of contact for our future residents. Steve is the main liaison between Lakeland and the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC- where families apply for long term care). He's here to make the process simple by guiding you through paperwork, answering questions, providing you with a personal tour of our facilities and making the overall transition a positive one.
Steve is also an advocate for our residents. He helps residents understand financial decisions, works with family and staff to resolve issues, assists with applications for community resources, and provides a voice for residents and families who may need assistance communicating their needs to staff or family.
Steve organizes the Family Auxiliary, is secretary of Lakeland's Health and Safety Committee, coordinates the monthly Penetanguishene Mental Health Clinic and even maintains the lost and found cart seen in different locations throughout the home. He is the one person within the home who is known by all residents, which is a testament to his devotion and true compassion towards our residents. We appreciate the continued enthusiasm that Steve brings to his job.
