Thank you everyone who helps save lives locally!

The weather was spectacular! Over 200 participants and 40 volunteers combined with sponsors and pledgers to create a terrific walk, run, pole and buy a new $80,000 telemetry system for cardiac rehab, replacing the 14-year-old equipment that has been failing for some time now.
In 2014 the 7th annual event, raised over $62,000. Combined with money saved from last year’s event ($27,000) the deal is sealed on buying local cardiac patients a new elemetry system for their rehab.
Because of tremendous corporate support all pledges and registration revenues from the 7th Annual Georgian Bay Walk, Run, Pole buys equipment. Route sponsors Kawartha Credit Union, CN and Lafarge together accounted for $15,000! Our elite sponsor and supplier of the new $1,050,000 pharmacy system McKesson provided $7,500! Astra Zeneca, Scotiabank, Morgan Construction, Harry’s No Frills, Richard’s Coffee, White Squall, Georgian Rentals, Comfort Inn, Wahta Springs and Sysco were the icing on the cake with further donations or help in-kind.

Thank you to Mayor Conn who joined volunteers in passing out water; Perry Harris, Wade Perkins and Andrew Ryeland who were on the trail at 6 a.m. with Bear Claw Tours ATVs preparing the route and then again at noon clearing it; our local YMCA for the morning stretch; Aleesha Mullen and Conrad Van der Valk our lead bikers; our musicians en route
Mrs. Kennedy on keyboards and John Kidd on drums with Kirstin House and the Turtle Lake Easy Pickins’ Junk Band at the Stockey Centre; to the OPP for guiding our runners off to a safe start; our ambulance services who were ready to serve; and finally, our volunteers en route, at registration and our photographers, Ted Krug and Thom Morrissey who
once again memorialized our event with their spectacular eye.
Thank you all! See you next year May 31, 2015 (last Sunday in May).
Our patients owe you a great debt of gratitude. Your energy is helping to make West Parry Sound Health Centre the best it can possibly be! On behalf of all of us at the Foundation please know you are the difference in terrific health care in Parry Sound.
