Proactive Disclosure

West Parry Sound Health Centre is committed to being open and transparent with its stakeholders and the communities we are privileged to serve. In this section of our web site visitors can access a wide range of information. While some of this information is being made public in accordance with legislative requirements, we have placed the material together with other documents that are being made public as a result of our interest in openness and accountability.
We agree with Ontario's Information and Privacy Commission (IPC) as it encourages all hospitals to expand their adoption of automatic information disclosure. As the IPC states, proactive disclosure embraces the concept of a more responsive and efficient government [health care system] that engages in collaborative relationships with those it serves.
This area of our web site will continue to change. We will adopt proactive disclosure processes that have mutual benefit for the community and for our delivery of patient and family centered care.

Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act

West Parry Sound Health Centre operates in compliance with the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to disclose annually the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in a calendar year.
This public disclosure can be found at Ontarios Ministry of Finance web site.

The directory contains a list of the general types of records in the custody or under the control of the hospital. The directory is intended to assist members of the public in exercising their rights of access under FIPPA. The directory does not contain the actual records and it is necessary to make an access request to the hospital's FIPPA Office. Please contact the FIPPA Office if you have an inquiry related to our Directory of Records or if you would like assistance in making your request for information as clear and concise as possible.
