Patient thankful for benefits of STOP program
“A patient of mine was so happy he was able to quit smoking he wanted to donate to our clinic,” said Pointe au Baril Nurse Practitioner Jared Bonis. “He consented to information being shared and provided us with $1,000.”

Foundation donors hit $4M for EHR project
WPSHC Foundation Executive Director Lynne Atkinson recently transferred another $200,000 in donations to West Parry Sound Health Centre in support of the Electronic Health Records (EHR) installation.

Paramedics honoured for outstanding bravery
The provincial government has honoured two Parry Sound District EMS paramedics with the Ontario Award for Paramedic Bravery. This award is given to paramedics who have displayed exceptional acts of courage — performed on the job or off-duty — in the face of grave, personal danger.
Last week, Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, presented the awards to 13 paramedics in a ceremony at Queen’s Park.
