Auxiliary - in support of improved care
Members of the WPSHC Auxiliary recently passed a motion in support of purchasing a much-needed mobile lift for our Emergency Department. The specialized device costs approximately $14,500 and is different from other patient lifts in the health centre.

Response to public concern over ED wait times
If you are waiting at West Parry Sound Health Centre to receive care in our Emergency Department, one thing to consider is being mindful that there are others who need our help too, many of them requiring the urgent immediate attention and expert skills of our full emergency team and the supporting resources of the health centre.
Consider that safe, expedient and focused quality care is worth the wait.

Additional care available at Nursing Stations
In the warm spring sun outside the Pointe au Baril Nursing Station a large group of partners from all across our catchment gathered to celebrate care closer to home: nurse practitioners, staff, First Nation leaders, municipal councillors and staff, community advisory committee members, board and staff leaders from the North East Local Health Integration Network (NE LHIN).
On Monday 30 April, NE LHIN Director of Primary Care Jennifer MacKinnon announced an investment of $2.6 million to support West Parry Sound Health Centre in the transformation of Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics – by combining and enhancing the health centre’s six existing nursing stations.
