Embracing Wellness at WPSHC

WPSHC’s Occupational Health and Wellness team, alongside our Wellness Committee, is a group of multi-disciplinary professionals who are dedicated to prioritizing the health and well-being of our team members. The team is dedicated to creating a supportive environment through a variety of programs and initiatives aimed at improving physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

From family-friendly events to wellness activities designed for all ages, we offer numerous opportunities to engage in health-promoting activities. Whether it’s a fun activity for the whole family or a moment to focus on personal well-being, we believe wellness should be inclusive and accessible to everyone.

Members of our staff stand on the deck of Killbear Provincial Park’s Interpretive Centre, completing a colourful snake themed craft with their children and grandchildren. Overhead it is a beautiful day, with a bright sun and a blue sky. In the distance you catch a glimpse of the shores of Georgian Bay.
Long-time staff member, Cara Rankin, cuts a cake at an appreciation BBQ on a beautiful summer day, as a few people mill about. Picnic tables are set up in the background.

Some of the things this group organizes include:

  • Free family-friendly events.
  • Holiday activities.
  • A weekly staff snack cart.
  • Staff appreciation BBQs.
  • A comprehensive Employee and Family Assistance Program.
  • Short-term counselling services with qualified psychotherapists.
  • Free after-hours gym use.
  • Free fitness classes.
  • Massage chairs on-site.
  • Access to our Wellness professionals.
  • A monthly wellness newsletter.

We know that our staff’s wellness is paramount to our ability to provide exceptional care to the communities we are privileged to serve, and we are always open to new ideas from staff about how we can best support the overall well-being of Team WPSHC.
