What to Expect: Joining Our Volunteer Auxiliary

Volunteering at West Parry Sound Health Centre involves a significant level of dedication, as it requires a commitment to ensuring patient safety and well-being. Volunteers must be prepared to follow health centre guidelines and policies to contribute effectively within the medical environment.

The role also demands a strong sense of responsibility and readiness to meet health center expectations for ongoing care and professionalism.

With the assistance of our Volunteer Services team, during the onboarding process volunteers are required to:

Complete the Volunteer Application
Sign and commit to WPSHC’s Confidentiality Agreement and Code of Conduct
Review WPSHC Policies and Sign Policy a Declaration Form
Submit Immunization Records (including COVID – 19 Vaccination Proof and TB Testing)
Obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check Administration Letter Provided from WPSHC Volunteer Services
Complete and submit a Criminal Records Check or a Vulnerable Sector Check (completed online)
Complete WPSHC’s General Orientation (review modules and submit quizzes)
Obtain an Identification Badge (authorized upon start date)

Please Note:

All volunteers are required to obtain and submit a copy of their Immunization Records and Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check. Support letters will be provided.

All volunteers are required to review and submit a signed copy of the WPSHC Auxiliary Agreement, Confidentiality Agreement, and Code of Conduct.

The Orientation Package, Infection Control information, and WPSHC Policies will be reviewed. Orientation Package Quizzes to be submitted prior to your start date.

All volunteers are expected to work safely and comply with appropriate health and safety policies.
