Sharon’s family has been on Otter Lake since 1952. Her grandfather, a champion swimmer from the Isle of Wight, taught Sharon and her sister to swim by putting them in life jackets, tying them to his rowboat, and rowing across the lake while giving pointers on form. Sharon’s two sons also learned to swim in Otter Lake, though by more conventional methods. Otter Lake is Sharon’s happy place.
