West Parry Sound Health Centre’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a six-bed, level two closed unit equipped with centralized monitoring and ventilator capabilities. We provide specialized care for both medical and surgical patients with complex care needs. This team is also integral to our work as Ontario’s Antivenom Depot and the treatment of patients who experience snakebites across Ontario. The ICU is supported by a team of highly skilled specialists and has access to tertiary care from larger regional partners, designed to provide the highest level of care for patients facing severe or life-threatening conditions. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and 24/7 monitoring, our ICU ensures that every patient receives personalized, expert care. Our highly trained care team is dedicated to managing complex medical cases and delivering timely interventions for critically ill individuals. The team works very closely with regional air and land ambulance, and our Emergency Department.
With a focus on patient safety and comfort, we prioritize clear communication and collaboration among our various teams, and with patients and families. Our goal is to provide the best possible care to help patients through their most challenging health moments.
Visiting hours within our ICU can be variable, families and caregivers of patients within the ICU are encouraged to speak directly to their loved one’s care team or our Visitor Coordinator Desk for further directions.
